Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Analyst will:
- Support the preparation and review of annual and semi-annual fund financial statements
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements including MRFPs, Fund Facts, quarterly disclosures, and tax reporting
- Review NAV reporting, fund accounting records, and valuation processes prepared by external fund administrators
- Liaise with auditors, custodians, investment managers, and other service providers
- Perform analytical reviews of fund performance, portfolio activity, expense allocations, and valuation reporting
- Assist with process improvement, automation, and reporting enhancement initiatives
- Support fund tax reporting and internal control processes
- Participate in ad hoc finance and operational projects as needed
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation (or in progress) preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in:
- Investment fund accounting/reporting, and/or
- Public accounting/audit covering investment funds or financial services clients
- Experience within a Big 4 or mid-sized accounting firm serving financial services clients is considered an asset
- Exposure to IFRS reporting and/or audits is preferred
- Experience with complex investment products and derivatives is an asset
- Strong Excel and analytical skills; exposure to SQL, Python, or Power BI is a plus
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive approach
