Our Client

Our client is a leading national full-service law firm recognized for its excellence, strong Canadian presence, and collaborative culture. The firm’s Financial Services group is seeking an Associate Lawyer to join its highly regarded Banking & Finance practice and contribute to a sophisticated transactional practice serving leading financial institutions, lenders, and corporate clients.

Responsibilities

  • Advise lenders, borrowers, and financial institutions on a broad range of financing transactions
  • Support sophisticated domestic and cross-border lending matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements, security documents, and other financing documentation
  • Work directly with partners and clients on complex banking and finance transactions
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice
  • Collaborate with lawyers across multiple practice groups
  • Assist with the development and mentorship of junior associates where appropriate

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of post-call experience preferred
  • Licensed to practice law in Ontario
  • Strong banking and lending experience
  • Experience handling sophisticated financing transactions in a law firm environment
  • Experience at a national firm or reputable Bay Street platform
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage files with increasing autonomy
  • Strong client service orientation and collaborative mindset
